Who Is A Free Methodist?
We are a people seeking to love God and embrace Jesus Christ as our
personal Lord and Savior through faith in Him. We are open to God and
believe that our lives can be positively transformed by the power of His Holy
Spirit. We recognize the authority of the Bible, the call to be holy, and the
mission of the Church to share God's love in word and deeds.
Our denomination has produced a good pamphlet that is worth checking out:
What Do We Believe?
Free Methodists around the world are united together in Christ and share a common church
constitution. This constitution outlines our shared beliefs and membership covenant. We
also have a denominational Manual that provides a great deal of information on our beliefs,
practices and church governance.
Our history as a church in the City of Hamilton is due to God's grace and the faithful service of past and
present generations of people who call Christ Lord of their lives. The Hamilton Free Methodist Society
started in 1890 in downtown Hamilton and eventually located its' church on the Hamilton mountain. Check
out the following links for more details about our history and that of our denomination. We look forward to
see what God will do through us in the future.

"Love must be sincere.
Hate what is evil; cling to
what is good. Be devoted to
one another in brotherly
love. Honor one another
above yourselves. Never
be lacking in zeal, but keep
your spiritual fervor, serving
the Lord. Be joyful in hope,
patient in affliction, faithful
in prayer. Share with God's
people who are in need.
Romans 12:9-13 (NIV)
